    Hi,

My guess would be a fault with chip or incompatibilty with your PC, if you let me know the exact make and model of your PC, motherboard make a model would be good if you know that, and can look into it for you.

    Thanks

Thats interesting as i took a look at your motherboard documents and it says it takes 66 or 100 not a 133. What was the memory you took from another PC, 256Mb 133?

Do you know what your original memory stick was, 133?

You could try making sure you have the latest BIOS installed on your motherboard this may fix any problems. Go to the makers website, although i think there were 2 revisions for your motherboard so you need to make sure you get the correct BIOS.

    Thanks

Hi, yes my system user guide says it will accept up to 768 in three banks(66mhz&100mhz)but the pc only has 2 slots,so did a cruciul scan which said the same 2 slots but said it would support 133.
patriot don,t seem to have web site thati can find, any idear, and is the BIOS something you can download.
    Thanks again vinnie138

    Hi,
You can find the bios information here http://www.fic.com.tw/support/mother...px?model_id=58

you need to make sure you get the correct one as updating the bios incorrectly will make your system stop working.

your will need to create a bootable fdd from the bios files you download, instructions for updating the bios are given on the site.

    thanks

Chances are that you have a single sided memory module built using a 32x8 chipset and thats why its only recognizing half of the memory. You need a double sided or 16x8 chipset PC133 module for it to work properly...
