Thread: Beep Beep

Hi My name is Chris B This is my first time on the forum, Ive never built my own pc before and i thought i would have a go and i need a bit of advice, Ive been following the info in the pc mag build your own PC ive put in the motherboard (on its spacers) put in the CPU and cooling fan and the memory conected all the front panel wires and the case fans and put in the PSU.Ive not put in the Graphics Card yet though,the Mag siad to start up the PC to make sure so far was fine.I started it up and it Beeped at me 4 times i left it running for a while to see if anything was getting hot and all the fans were working and they were OK so i presed the reset button and it beeped at me again 4 times is this OK as ive looked at all the wires and i cannot see were thay are wrong and nothing smells or getting hot,but the article siad if it beeps check all the fittings are write. IS it safe to carry on with the build do you think,Please. The spec is ASRock 4 core Dual-Sata2R2.0 motherboard a Intel Core2QuadPro 2.4ghz CPU a ZalmanCNPS8700-ledcpu fana ThermalTake TR2 500w ATX 12v2.0Psu into a Benz BlackSuper Midi case and there is loads of room.As being new to all this i dont want to blow it up but it would be an achievement to do it if you no what i mean,Ive got my mGraphics card and hard drives still to go in but is all ok to doso. Hi Feret I will have a look at them but the trouble is im a novice at this, This is the first time ive built a PC and my confidence is not there yet. The athere thing im not sure of is witch disc do you put in first the mother board disc or the O/S disc the mags ive been following does not say,Thanks for your help. CB _( Hi Feret Thanks for the links i had a look and as i read down the falts of bleeps it siad 4 bleeps not reconised (ie Graphics card) so i put my Graphics card in and no more bleeps, Every thing is working fine the CPU is running at 20c the memory as been recignised so all is well now i can put all the other bits in and tydie up,Thanks agian.
