Hi. I'll put my 2-cents in here:

For compatibility between MOBO & processor, best to verify with seller to be sure. That way, if there is a problem, you can return/correct with them. I've read that a good dual-core processor is a better choice than a quad-core (at least at present), and AMD are very reliable; they just don't handle heat as well as Intel.

RAM: What OS will you be installing? If XP, I would suggest 3GIG RAM (that's all XP will recognise). If you will install Vista (or Windows 7), then by all means put in at least 4GIG. RAM is cheap, and plays a huge role in system performance. The MOBO you have selected will accept up to 8GIG max, so put as much in as you can if you're going to install Vista/7.

HDD: WD Caviar 500GIG/7200RPM is a good choice. If you can, double up and then get Acronis TrueImage to clone your drive and make auto-scheduled incremental backups. Some day it will save you a lot of grief (speaking from experience). Remember, there are now THREE things in life you can count on: death, taxes and a failed hard drive. LOL

...Future purchase - a really sweet graphics card...

    Have fun!
