fixing!! plz help
hi ive been fixing computers for my friends and family for a while now and was wondering is there alot of money to be made by buying a faulty computer replacing or repairing faulty part then selling or is it better to build a new one from scratch thanks in advance

I don't think there's much value in secondhand/repaired PCs to be honest. Especially as you can buy a brand new decent HP tower for about £340 which is good enough for general home use. Building a new one to order for a customer brings it's own pitfalls as you'd be liable for the warranty etc. I'm sorry if I don't sound positive but just my humble opinion.

I would second faber on this one, infact i have just been to an ebay shop that was selling refurbished desktops for £29.99.

ahh i see thanks for ur great advice is there a little money to be made off new builds because i want to try make this into a full time thing

well, you might make a little money from new builds, though I doubt the margin would be huge, I hate to be pessimistic, but you wouldn't be able to compete with "the big shops/stores" due to warranty issues and/or distance selling regulations if you sell online, they make it complicated and usually would end up with you being liable for problems etc, so I'm not sure that's worth it.
EDIT: ah, I see I'm aorund 3 months too late, that's odd?? are there just not many poss on this site then?

hi,
i should think if you bought cheap components off of ebay and then sold the new computer on ebay you might earn a bit of profit but i wouldnt say alot depends i suggest you try it there isnt any harm is there
