Default I'm thinking of building a PC....

Basically I need info, I know that I can put the components together easily enough, but what else do I need (other than perioherals) I plan on buying it piece by piece, and putting it together, I think I still want XP, though maybe Vista/Win 7 is a better option, and lastly, can Windows 7 be 32 bit or 64 bit? or is it only one? what implications (such as max ram = 3gb for 32 bit) could this have?

Hi Hd; For over 10 years I always built my own pc's but this one is over the counter (HP Quad) and to be fair, it has already proven worthwhile with the backup from HP as well as the expertise in this forum. So although there is nowt to stop you building your own, look for offers. This HP one is nearly £800 for £420.

Building: always buy the best components you can afford.
