Default Budget processor - is this the right one?

    Hi,

I'm after a new processor, on a budget. I've been told this - Pentium 4 Processor 630 3.0GHz 2MB FSB800 BTX BOX BX80547PG3000FT Intel Prices - will suit my system, but I'm wondering whether it's good enough? I mostly use the relevant PC for just general web browsing and listening to music..

    Thanks!

I think dual and quad core chips are the way to go. But that's just my HO. The question is, will your MB accept it? (see socket) P4s are old technology.
