Default Downloading Gran Paradiso Alpha 2

A new version of firefox, beta. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/fire...otes/#download . Personaly I've been put off FF since downloading from a Google site. It completely corrupted FF so won't download again.
Personaly not very friendly with Google as that is the biggest spyware threat I have on my machine....

After uninstalling FF(originally from a Google pack site) I found that even reinstalling from Mozilla's site the dreaded Google toolbar was still there! So using search, all hidden files and folders...etc I found files and folders for Google toolbar still there. Deleted all and now have been running Paradisimo beta since about a week now.

Found that importing favourites from IE7 and Opera was a doddle. The spell checker works well, has that red squiggly line under dubiously typed words and when Flash was required it downloaded Flash player and did not require the browser to be closed and re-opened to work. Over all seems to be a very good improvement and although a Beta have not come up with a bug yet.

Can you not "remove" google toolbar as a plugin from the software

That was the original problem. Having downloaded from a Google pack the toolbar was difficult to remove. It seemed to be an integral part of the browser and corrupted it after uninstalling. Removing the toolbar using the search facility got rid of it as there was nothing in add/remove list. I'm sure if I downloaded FF from the Mozilla site now it would be ok.
What happened to the browser after removing the toolbar was the status bar at the bottom moved up about an inch and the bookmarks stopped working. So anyone who wants to download FF I recommend downloading only from the Mozilla site.

Trying out GPA 3 now and have not noticed any particular improvement. As a beta though have not found any faults so far. Looking good.
