Have you done any windows updates or software/driver updates recently?

It may be worth doing a system restore first back to a day you know it was working

Just wondering - do you have System Restore turned off? You say your system is slowing down - what is the current "used" capacity of your hard drive? I've seen systems start acting up when the hard drive approached 75-80% full.
