Thread: lap top not working

Can anyone help please

I have a lap top which has stoped working.
I have tried using rescue disk, no good I have tried to reinstall windows and it stated the drive needed formating.
I have attempted to format the drive but it states that it can not be formatted.
Is this a dead hard disk?

It's a Fujitsu Amilo L 6820

Fujitsu dont seem to have any diagnostic software to use to test the drive, you could try this one though http://www.fis.fujitsu.com/support/d...fjdt_v6.61.zip, although im not sure it works on laptops.

download it and copy it do a bootable floppy, reboot the system off the fdd and run the program

The fact that you cannot format the drive does strongly suggest the drive has a major fault, which would need replacing/repairing
