    Unhappy My speakers aren't working!!!

Help!!! Done a stupid thing and accidently disconnected my
speakers whilst computer was still running. Having
reconnected them I'm still without sound. Have gone
through the device manager with no joy. Have I blown
them or could it be the sound card?

    Hi,

I would try your speakers on another device if you can, cd player, tv etc and see if you get sound that will prove if the speakers are the problem!!

If your speakers are ok then take a look here, http://delltech.150m.com/XP/audio/2.htm

Haven't figured out WHY - but, in my case, when the speakers no longer work:

click on START, RUN and type SERVICES.MSC

then scroll down to WINDOWS AUDIO and right click and START the process.

    Hope that helps a little....
