    Default no power

working on a dell desktop with pentium 4. Lost power to system tried replacing the motherboard and new power supply but still no power. The only other part I can think of which would stop power would be the power supply switch. Is there any other part which might cause this? Also had it in the shop and they reported it unfixable. All help would be helpful as I have never seen an unfixable computer before and would love to prove them wrong.

When you say no power i guess you mean, no lights, no fans etc

ok i would start from the following and work my way through.

    1. check power socket
    2. check power cable
    3. psu/motherboard you have already done
    4. try motherboard and psu out of the case on a table
    5. cpu and ram

Does the mobo have a power indicator light?

If so, you should be able to determine if the mobo is getting juice or not by if it comes on when the power is engaged. If so, then check cpu/ram. If not, then go cable/outlet/ps/mobo route (which you have done it seems )
