    Default ddr2 or ddr2 dual channel ?

I have an Intel D945GCL mobo with a 2.13Ghz core 2 duo processor and 1Gb of ddr2 ram. The problem I have is that I don't understand the difference between plain ddr2 and dual channel ddr2. I want to upgrade to 2Gb of ram but don't know if my mobo will take dual channel or not and I don't want to skimp on ram if dual channel is better. What ,if any, options do I have?

    Hi,

I beleive Dual Channel is more do to with the motherboard rather then the actuall DDR2 module.

If you motherboard supports Dual Channel (normally two different coloured sockets) then putting 1 module in each will enable the Dual channel feature, the limit is i think you must have two modules and no more then two modules.

Use the scanner from Crucial; it will give a list of all compatible ram for your motherboard and it's guaranteed. http://www.crucial.com/uk/?gclid=CJW...FQIvlAodAmfRQw
