Default Do I need a new graphics card?

Last week I started having problems with my screen, basically there are lines running across it at times, and spots appear, not only during windows but also during boot-up. The lines are in different places all the time, so I doubt it's my screen, and I've since re-formatted my drive, so it's not a virus. I've downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card (GeForce FX 5700 Ultra, if that helps), and I still have the same issue. Can anyone give any advice?

I don't think it could be the issue, but I am low on RAM (only 512mb), but I don't see how that could cause this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It certainly seems that your graphics card is on it's way out. If you can borrow another monitor just to verify that it's not your monitor at fault, then that will be more evidence that it's the graphics card. Had similar symptoms when mine failed and ended in the 'no signal' report on the monitor.
If you have xp home then 512mb ram should be sufficient.
One thing I tried was to re-seat the card but it still failed.

It sounds very much like a graphics card fault to me, have you managed to fix this problem yet?
