I have a 4-port USB PCI card here and I have no idea what speed it is. Aside from opening up my computer and installing it, is there any other way for me to identify which speed this thing is? It has an FCC number on it.
Thanks.

goto device manager on your pcYou should see a line that says something like "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller".
- Right-click My Computer[
- Click on Properties
- Click on the Hardware tab
- Click on the device Manager button
- Scroll down as needed until you see Universal Serial Bus Controllers
- Expand that by clicking on the boxed plus sign in front of Universal Serial Bus Controllers
The exact text may vary, the key is the word "Enhanced". If it's "Enhanced",its USB 2.0 if not, then it's USB 1.x.
hope that helps
Right, thanks - that's good information. I never knew "enhanced" was the designation for 2.0 USB.
Now, about this 4-port card I have.....It's sitting here on my desk (sorry, I should have been a bit more specific!) haha Is there any way to tell what speed this thing is? If it's 2.0 I want to install it in my computer - I have enough 1.x USB ports.
Thanks!
simrick, why do you always post the difficult ones..!? Had the same type of problem with a couple of ram modules. No box or any information on makers.
What I tried was to google the usual numbers found and tried asking the question in various ways. Such as -ram circuit board 124-adf--1... etc or ram module blah blah. Gave up in the end![]()
Well, it's my job to keep you guys on your toes! Didn't you know that? LOLOriginally Posted by ₣abler
