Thread: laptop stopped working

My Dell Inspiron 1300 has suddenly stopped working. A message came up that the battery was low even though I was plugged into the mains. The laptop switched itself off.
It will not power up either on mains or battery. It seems dead.

Any ideas what it could be.

Check the power pack warms up when in use. If not then check the fuse. Could be that simple hopefully.

Powerpack warms up but still unable to switchon

I guess you dont get any LED's when the mains it attached stating the battery is charging, my guess would be the power connecter socket or around that area is the problem..

I think you would need contact dell for a repair

Thanks I have had it checked and it is the power pack that is the problem.
