    Default Logitech Quickcam Communicate

I have this webcam and looking for drivers online for it. But, every time I locate one and click, I get redirected to Driver Detective which asks me to down load and scan. I did and it finds 17 problems of out of date drivers. BUT, when I try and use it it asks me for $29 odd dollars to use it. On yer bike Driver detective!!! I am not paying for the privelege of downloading FREE upgrades!!

So, anyone got a damned shortcut to get drivers without having to pay. What a rip off.

Ah never mind. I got in via home site and routed myself but software is for Vista but incompatible. Throws cam in bin!

Hello red devil. Just a thought, there are two versions of Quickcam Communicate :- Delux and STX. Two versions of Vista drivers, 32 bit and 64 bit. Just wondered you had the right driver/ webcam?

I am wondering if there is a driver at all as it only says Logitech Webcam Communicate on the manual. I downloaded the first one and installed it, at 32 bit, and it all installed but does not find the camera. Even Windows cannot see it.

Is this the site? http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/support_downloads/ . In the 'search by name' box click the menu arrow and select webcams, in the box underneath select which webcam ( product name). Should take you to the window to pick drivers for your particular OS.

Yes thats the one, I did use this but my cam is not listed as named but as either of the two options above. I can only assume that these have superceded my "old" webcam and there is no driver for vista. I have ordered an even better on off eBay, from a retail seller, and it should do the biz big style.

    I hope!

Another thing to try is (hopefully you use windows live messenger) open WLM and log in. Under tools click on 'web cam settings'. Even without drivers ,and the webcam connected, Vista it should 'see' it. (Sorry for the pun!) You should be able to do some configuration from there.
