    Exclamation Pc shut down problem

    I have an ASUS Machine with Windows XP. When I load a dvd into my LG GDR8163B DVD-CD ROM DRIVE, my computer immediately shuts down. This did not always happen. Do I need a new driver, and if so how can I upgrade without paying $30 for driver upgrade software?

    Driver here:
    LG GDR-8163B DVD ROM Firmware 0L23

    Although it sound as if the Drive itself has failed, unusal for it to crash the Computer though ... have you checked inside at the plug power cord etc to make sure something has not worked loose.
