Surfboard hint
I was supposed to be on 22mb broadband but sites would take their sweet time to open. Now, I know you can only download as fast as the sending server will let you, no matter what your connection speed but I had a surfboard replaced by my ISP and things improved slightly. But not satisfactorily.
Then, last week, my Scientific Atlanta surfboard did something and it popped the circuit and refused to give me access. I phoned my ISP (Virginmedia) and they sent out a new one which they explained was being used to replace all modems to 'allow for the greater speeds' as their minimum is now 10mb broadband.
So I thought, why was I paying for 22mb broadband if my surfboard was not up to the task??? My new surfboard (VM Branded), after activation, is going great guns!!
If you are not getting the business end of your ISP deal, query the surfboard, you may be falling short of what you are paying for.
