Default Internet sharing with 2x computers.

My old computer, still in use, is connected to broadband, and is protected by Internet Security 2006, which is valid until about April or May 2007. When I bought a second computer last week, I installed the contents of the Symantec ROM into the new computer, and messages onscreen inform me that I must activate it, but I have already activated this product back in May on my old computer. I was hoping that by connecting a crossover cable which I connected to both machines, I could use the broadband connection on the first machine to activate the installation on the second, but it doesn't seem to work. Can I just install off the broadband ROM into the new computer, or do I have to take out a second broadband agreement with my ISP. BEWILDERED yet again.
