    Default internet

have a computer downstairs with a belkin router for my daughter to get internet upstairs on her computer. was round neighbours for a party when the son said that he was picking up our internet..or something like that and we need to encrypt the computer.
does this mean he can tell wot sites are being visited and passwords are being used, and wot needs to be done.
worried he may see her sign in names and passwords has she uses bebo, msn and others

It sounds like you are using wireless internet connection, and you havent enabled the encryption security feature.
If you dont enable it then anyone within range can pickup your internet connection and use it to surf etc.

You need to enable WEP security on your router, this will generate a password which you will need to use on your daughters pc to access the internet.
Once this is set up no one else can access your internet without the password
