    Default Opening Windows in IE

I like my "windows" to open full size, corner to corner. Since installing Vista SP1 my windows now only open in a small pocket and I have to drag them out. Problem, is they do not stay open fully. Next visit, its a pocket again.

IE used to have a tick box for "remember previous settings" which I think actually worked, but I cannot find it any more.

Try using the maximize box (top right of page) then close down IE7. See if it will open to full size when re-opened.
This should work for any window opened. Struggling a bit here to reply as I'm trying out IE8 beta. It's better tonight as yesterday it closed down the tab only for AV Mechanic. Really like Windows as it gives some nice challenges sometimes. Imagine a perfect OS with nothing to go wrong.....

I treid maximising; it does not work, next time window opens small again - grrrr - its probably a simple solution, a tick here, not a tick there, but can I find it!!!!! ???

When in email and get a link - click on link, eg: message in a forum - click on link and (blows raspberry) small aperture with big message

Try this, resize the window then press CTRL key and close. Re-open and see if Vista will remember it this time.

Try this, open a single IE window (which is presumably still too small)
Now open a second IE window by right-clicking
on any convenient link in the open IE window and select 'open in new window'.
Resize this second window to the dimensions required.
Close this resized window by clicking the X in the upper right corner while holding down the Shift key.
Resize the still open original window.
Close this window by again clicking the X in the upper right corner while holding down the Shift key.

This is now bordering on the intergalactically mysterious. My IE windows are now opening as normal but any link I open from my email account (gmail) still opens in a small window!

I think I had better ring Doctor Who!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Using Opera 9.7 /minefield/FireFox 2.0. 0.13 along with IE8 beta.
    http://www.jiisoft.com/iemaximizer/Default.aspx
MIne : Xp Pro Sp2. and IE8 is OK. ( By the way no more support to XP after June 2008)
Option to go back to previous version say IE 6 from IE 7 available to locate the fault.
Better to uninstall IE ( along with OE) and then reinstall.
My friend updated with SP3 his Xp Home and number of problems were solved.
( Still System Restore problem !)
Gmail : I am using OE to send and receive email for that ID. Will test links from Gmail and report later.
Para two : Running AV and antispyware may help.

    Testing in different browsers. http://browsershots.org/
