Thread: Router Problem

Hi im having a problem staying connected to the internet i have a wireless router which is a zoom adsl box i have a main pc linked straight to it running on vista and i have 2 laptops in the house running on xp. all of them connect but drops out after a few minutes on all machines. even if i plug laptops into router im still having problem. any help on things i could try. the laptops are right next to router so its not a problem with signal and there no digital phones or anything near router to make it cut out.
any help would make me so happy im at a stage where i could throw it out the window.

First thing I'd try is to power cycle the router. Posh words for disconnecting the power to the router for 30-60 seconds. Swich on again and see if it helps. It could be worthwhile contacting your ISP incase there is an intermittent fault on your line. Had dropouts, although not as frequently, before and my ISP found a fault in the exchange. I have my router on 24/7.
