Thread: Cannot search on google and more

Well, my internet has been doing this for a very LONG time, and it is really bugging me now, i cannot search on google, which is so annoying as it is like the best search engine..

I can get onto the actual www.google.com but as soon as i start a search nothing happens forever !!!!

i also cannot get onto www.download.com, nor many websites that i search for through msn search.

These are the things a tried;

Resetting all IE and fireox settings [by the way, it happens on all browsers]
I have connected 2 my home & my nans internet, and it still happens [this means it is something to do wth my laptop]

i have checked the 'Hosts' file and cleared it and still nothing...

i have cleared all cache and temp files...

and i have searched absolutly everywhere on the net for a solution and there is nothing, so i really hope you can help...

- Open up a commandline (Start -> Run, type 'cmd', click OK)
- Type the following: 'netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt' and hit return
- Reboot your computer

(Remove the quotes from both of the lines you type.)

For more details about what this does, see the Microsoft KB article --> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357 . What you are doing is resetting Windows' TCP/IP stack to its defaults, as if you had removed and reinstalled it.

but this time, i have types the netsh command again, and it didn't do anything, now i am blocked from half the websites again

I have tryed the command hundreds of times and rebooted like loads lol
I cannot search on google again, nor visit the microsoft website, nor download.com and many others.

Could this be resetting the Stack, but then going back, because after i typed it the forst time it works, i was on google and microsoft and everything, but then suddenly i can't again...

I will never give up lol, any help ???

Ok, I've been experiencing the same problem and the suggested fix from the beginning of the thread hasn't helped me either. Truth be told, it had helped to a certain extent for a short while: First time I tried it - nothing happened at all; I tried doing it once more and what happened was that I was able to use Google search sometimes, but other sites including (but not limited to) Facebook, Gameriot, Microsoft support pages (e.g. the links posted in this thread), Gmail, Hotmail Inbox... After I rebooted my computer, Google search stopped working again, as well.

I guess there is no need to say how frustrating this problem can get - not being able to use Google search and when I do find something (using msn.com lol) - it turns out that I cannot open it! I am actually forced to use my sister's laptop to post this since I wasn't able to validate my forum account because I couldn't open my email inbox.

Anyway, have you found something new out, Mattio? Or does someone else have a suggestion/experience with this problem? All help would be greatly appreciated!
