Default can now only connect to work's internet

I have a wired internet connection at my place of work (where I live during the week), this works perfectly, however, after connecting for the first time i then became unable to connect to the internet any other way - i think my computer keeps looking for that to connect to. When I've run an internet check the following message comes up:

windows cannot tonnect to the internet using HTTP, HTTPS or FTP. this is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer.
Check firewall settings for the HTTPport(80), hTTPSport(443) and FTport(21).

the thing is I've disabled any firewall that i installed in order to give myself security, is it possible that my work internet put a firewall in, and if so how do i remove it (I leave this place of work in a fortnight and really want to be able to use the internet!).

before i installed to work stuff all my home internet connections worked fine, it's not just one internet - i've tried many many wireless internets and none of them work. please help!

    Thank you

Have you got a router as this may act as a firewall?

    Default Can't access one site

My problem is very similar but a bit different to those already mentioned. For some reason for the past few days I have been unable to load the following website: www.halifaxcourier.co.uk
Have used this site for years and it works on other peoples computers but not mine!
No screen messages are shown but the green bar loading thing on the bottom of the screen never fills; it just stays 90% full. Use XP and have a wired ethernet connection. Have tried the `scripting' and clicking SSL 2.0 etc without success.

Are you using IE? If so, try clearing out all your cookies, cache, etc.

    TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/BROWSING HISTORY/DELETE/DELETE ALL

Sometimes this works....just a thought. Deleting ALL will also delete any passwords you have stored.
