    Default Internet browser problem

I am experiencing internet browser problems. I have two computers in the home of which one is using Vista and one has both Vista and XP installed on seperate drives. Both computers show that they are connected to local and internet connections in which they are as I'm able to access e-mail thru outlook however the internet won't come up on either computer.
The computer with Vista and XP on it will allow me to use the internet if I go to the Vista hard drive but not the XP and the other computer that has just the Vista installed won't access the internet even though it is connected (e-mail works, sidebar is working accessing news ect..) Both computers were working fine just about 8 hrs ago and nothing has been done to them in between. Please advise as to what might cause this problem and possible soulutions as I've never heard of this type of problem, certainly with what seems to be 2 out of 3 drives on two different computers at the same time.
    Thanks
    Vic

I was able to resolve this problem by going to internet options, clicking on the advance tab and reseting the internet explorer settings. Strange enough I only had to do it on one computer and the other seemed to work just fine. Not really sure why one would affect the other though. Even though I was able to resolve the problem I would appreciate some insight as to what may cause this and why it was that it affected two different computers at the same time of which only 2 of the 3 hard drives were affected.
    Thanks for any insight
    Vic
