Thread: internet explorer doesnt work, other programs do?

For a few months, my internet explorer hasn't worked, neither has mozilla or opera, i've tried safari aswell. But my MSN and Limewire are both working, although i deleted Limewire incase that was the problem. I can access the internet via MSN (by clicking a song title it opens a mini-explorer) but thats not really enough for me, as it won't open links and i can't even type in an address.
I've tried deleting all my files, and i've scanned my computer plenty of times with my anti-virus software, but nothing has come, i've also reset all of my settings on internet explorer, but nothing works! I don't have a restore point from before christmas, so there would be no point in trying to restore the pc.
I probably shouldn't have left it this long, but my desktop computer was fine to use until i got rid of it when i moved house. Now i'm stuck, and i'm having to use my mum's computer to check email etc.

Have you tried doing a malware scan as well, try malwarebytes Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.39 - FileHippo.com and see if it picks up anything

the scan is still going, but so far its found 10 infected items that nothing else picked up, it looking hopeful. If it doesn't work, i'll post again, but thanks
