    Default Watching Video's problem!

This is the problem my friend on another forum is having so I'll just post on here what he said:

"Right, any form of embedded video that I try to view will crash my webpage, no matter what browser I use, Firefox, IE 8, Safari etc.... It just happened all of a sudden, I was viewing a video on Youtube fine, then all of a sudden it just crashed. What happens exactly is, as soon as the video begins to buffer the page does crash but after 4 or 5 minutes it starts work again but then it just permantly crashes."

he has the latest flash by the way, I told him that straight away. I'm thinking it could be video card drivers, but I want a few second opinions...

Its worth checking if he has the latest drivers installed for the Video Card.

Crashing like that can also occur from overheating. If the computer gets to hot it switches itself off to prevent any damage to itself. Tell him to make sure any fans are clean and free of dust.

One other thing to check is if it is a bad Ram stick ... ensure the Ram sticks are fully pushed home and the full Ram shows up on the Computer.

ok he needs to update his gfx drivers, problem is, he's on vista, I've only ever used Vista at a mate's house for about 20 minutes as I am on XP, so does anyone have a guide to doing this on Vista?

Right, ok, it's not the graphics card drivers, here's a censored version of what he sent back to me:

FFS I give up. I went to ATI.com, updated my drivers and still the same problem. Useless bleeping bleep of a PC. I'm not trying anymore HD (EDIT FOR AV - That would be me), because I will end up smashing in the PC tower.

Thanks for the help though mate
Anyone have any idea's what it could be? I thought it would be the graphics card drivers, but, I'm out of thoughts now, so, anyone?

Actually the beeping of his/her computer is very important ... if you can get him/her to calm down and give a reasonable explanetion of all the problems they are having. and give us as much information as possible ... then we can probably help.

The portion of the mail that you sent us only shows us the fustration your friend has (that does not help him or us solve the problem)

WE need a lot of information from your friend to try to help him/her to get that they have to calm down a bit ... it is easy to throw a computer out of a window because your fustrated (I have done it) but it will not solve the problem.

It could be that Flash is corrupted. Try downloading the Flash removal tool to the desktop and note what is required to be closed (very important); How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control . Might need to right click to run as Administrator. Reboot the machine and download the IE and non IE versions from file hippo. Scroll down the page a bit for the non-IE Flash; Download Flash Player 10.0.32.18 (IE) - FileHippo.com

ok, I'll tell him this, and should it fail again, I'll get him to do it once more and describe the problems as detailed as possible.

This is what his reply was (the flash corruption suggestion didn't work)

    Here is exactly what happens.

I pick the video on youtube and as it is loading(the bit where the little circle is going round and round) it just stops, crashes or whatever. I can hear like a click sound, like the noise you hear if you click on a link or something. I click on the page and it says in brackets at the top, Page not responding. After around 4 or 5 mins the video actually begins to work again but then crashes again and then after another 4 or 5 mins it starts working again. PS The webpage temperarily crashes, not the PC itself.
