Default cannot view any videos from yahoo....
Hi!

i have this problem for quite some time now and still cannot find any solution to this. everytime i tried to click a video link in yahoo, Do you want to allow software such as ActiveX controls and plug-ins to run? Yes or No

choosing NO, yielded a page "we are unable to proceed." and Your computer is unable to play the selected clip. then i click the solutions link to verify if my computer has the minimum requirements to be able to play yahoo video. somehow it did passed the verifications tests yet i still cannot view the clips.

choosing YES, however, Done with exclamation mark insde a yellow triangle displayed at the bottom of the yahoo news video page with the following internet explorer script error;

Line: 566
Char: 83
Error: '1' is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?
rn=3906861&cl=5961293&ch=4227541&src=news

i am using windows xp sp2 home edition, internet explorer 7, windows media player 11, realplayer 11 as alternate media player, my adobe flashplayer are updated and at present using version 9.0.115.0.

one of the help site i came in asked for my user agent string and i do not know why still i yielded to his request and sent him the data with his help in how to have it. in case this may be of help this is the user agent string, now: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible;MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible;MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1); NET CLR 1.1.4322; NET CLR 2.0.50727; FDM; NET CLR 3.0.04506.648)

others suggested that i uninstall adobe flashplayer and re-install back the recent flashplayer. countless times i have had done the uninstall and re-install process, yet, still i cannot view the yahoo video clips.

what will i do next to solve this issue?

Hi,

We need to see if the problem is related to IE7 or your PC, so lets install the Firefox browser from here

http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/

Install the browser and run it, you will get prompted about importing settings from IE but choose NO for this.

Try yahoo videos now, you may get asked to install plugins , just say yes to this if you do, you only need to do this once.

see if the videos work now in firefox

In addition to Tech-Masters post try verifying Java in IE7 and firefox. Might verify in firefox but I have sneaky suspicion that Java is corrupt in IE.
