Default Trying to Remove Program
Hi: I'm having a problem removing Trend Micro Internet Security 2008. I want to remove it because even though I never set it up for child potection stuff, it still blocks me from going to certain sites.

That makes me so mad. One in particular is A & E. Can you imagine? What is wrong with that? Anyway, no matter how I try it will not uninstall. I tried :
1. Removing it with the normal windows uninstall. It looks like it works but doesn't
2. Their support had me trie it by putting the disk in and trying the uninstall on the disk. didn't work. They had me try it in safe mode. didn't work. this was with using the Tissuprt.exe file. no good.

I'm at a loss. Has anyone had problems with this software before and how did you solve it?

Try this

Go to Start -> Run -> type "msconfig" & then press enter

go to "Startup" tab (extreme right)and uncheck all programms that has a path associated to Trend Micro

go to "Services" tab (2nd to extreme right) and uncheck all services that are linked to Trendmicro

press apply and then OK...restart your computer

Go to "C:\Program Files" and delete the complete folder of Trend Micro

Go to Start -> Run -> type "regedit" & then press enter

select "My Computer" from the left content index and then go to Edit->Find...type trend and search...delete all the entry..which ever is possible..

do the search 2-3 times and repeat the delete process...if you are unable to delete an entry after 2-3 times ...leave it..

See if that gets rid of it.

Default Re: Trying to Remove Program
Thanks for the suggestions. When I went into the folders, no files from Trend Micro were there. From all the thing I had previously tried, some of the files have been removed. The leftover files only show up and cause me problems now when I try to install another security package. That's when I find out they are lurking somewhere. It's almost like a virus.

I'm going to look for a program that just removes old programs. There has to be something like that. I'll have to do some searching.

Again, thank you.
