Thread: Pop Ups!

Hey..
I use Mozilla Firefox and I thought there wasnt any chance too pop ups getting in, but I ve probably got myself something really bad.. When i play a game without using the internet.. Pop ups suddendly appear :S so i cant do anything without the damn pop ups coming up. Please help me someone..

Hi,

Firefox has a built in popup blocker which should stop popups when browsing, make sure your running the latest version 1.5.0.3 at the time of writing.

Although as you say you have popups when playing games i would check your system for spyware, download spybot and adaware SE, (links are in right column of this page inder "free tools" )install them and run the programs check for updates on each.

Once the updates are done reboot in safe mode , run each program and check for problems, remove anything it finds.

I already tried that.. But I`ve found out what this spyware is called.. Look 2 me or something like that..

ok, do the following to remove look2me

Please download the latest version of Look2Me-Remover.exe to your desktop.

* Close all windows before continuing.
* Double-click Look2Me-Remover.exe to run it.
* Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
* You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Remover will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
* When Look2Me-Remover re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
* You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
* When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Remover will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
* Your computer will then shutdown.
* Turn your computer back on.
* Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Remover.txt

If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the Internet please allow it.
