Thread: need help reinstalling windows

hi there i am in need of some help i am having trouble with accessing some of the internet,the only thing is i would like 2 erase everything on my computer and reinstall all of the cds that came with the computer but i can't remember how 2 do this can any 1 help.

If you have a restore cd then you normally just boot up off the cd and it will re-install the pc back to how you got it.

i have a windows XP home edition cd i did try and reboot using this cd but i had a error come up which is has follows stop:-C0000221 unknown hard error\system root\system32\ntdll.dll can i ask what this means?

i have just moved my computer from upstairs 2 downstairs and now 4 some unknow reason i can access certain web pages,i have a broadband connection with bt but i can delete or compose and email with yahoo,i also do a virtual pet site called neopets and when i need 2 feed my pets i should get a another window come up but i don't even get that now so what could the problem b i hope u can help but if not don't worry.

hi there i downloaded spybot sofware and sorted out all the errors but i still can not delete or compose any emails throught bt yahoo what do u mean by trying another cd rom drive.
i just can't seem 2 access certain websites,like e-bay when i have won a item and i need 2 pay 4 it i can't complete the transaction,and 2 day i tried 2 mail dell support but i couldn't even sent that.
i have had some 1 say that they would visit and help but i can't afford it at the mo which is a pain.

When i meant another cd rom drive, i meant the actual drive you put your cd in, change the actual drive.

When you say your using bt yahoo for emails, are you doing that online via their website or do you use outlook/outlook express program?

What happens when these web pages dont work, do you get an error message?

Do you know what spybot found when you ran the scan?

You could also try CCleaner , install this and run the scan, it will clean up your system and clear off any tempory files etc which could cause your problem

And another thing to try is search for a file called "hosts" on your system, open it up in notpad and let me know what address are listed in it, if it list some of the sites your having problems with delete them and resave the file.

am doing bt yahoo online via there web site.i do not get any error messages when the web pages don't work they either don't load or the same pages appears again and again

i did use spybot and it find lots of errors with spybot sorted out but everything is still the same
