Thread: Working Offline Message

whenever i start my machine, a Celeron 2.6 using Win XP, after 2-3 minutes, it automatically flashes the Working Offline message box. irrespective of whether i click on "work offline" or "try again", the box closes and does not appear again.
this happens irrespective of whether i am online or not.
i have AVG antivirus with the latest updates and have checked my system for spyware and have not found any.
pl help.

In IE, tools, internet options, connections, lan settings untick the box for "automatically detect network settings". Close the browser. Restart IE and navigate to "automatically detect network settings" and re-tick.
