Unhappy Question about a msn Messenger problem (probably a virus)

Hi, one of my freinds have got a strange file for some days from some other (Idon't know who) but it start's all conversations with a link to

    (link removed)

Don't follow the link!!!! it's just for informal and somebody alse got the same then he or she would recognise and know the link and that would maybe help.

    It's not XXX it's a virus don't follow it!!

and if you follow this link a file is downloaded and and a zip archive opens (in my case WinAce starts) and then I tested to extract it to my desktop. My friend said that it was a virus. I virus scanned it and nothing. and then I made a restore point and rigth klicked and choosed "configure" and then AdWatch ( AdAware's active registry checker) and said that a new program had been added to the startup programs list. The program added was msnmessenger.exe so I choosed "block" on the AdWatch and deleted the file.

but my friend have the problem...

what should he do? reinstall msn messenger?

He has Nod32 antivirus and it have deleted it but it's still there

Help please and thanks in advance

I think you should boot into safe mode and run all the scans you can, check its all clean reboot, then try reinstalling msn
