Thread: avast freezing

    Default avast freezing

    i've just done a scan using avast when i got my results at the end of the scan i tried deleting the files but i got a box saying its processing the results then nothing happened after a while i clicked cancel and nothing happened i couldn't even close the program. am i just being to impatient in letting the results process, if so how long does it take to process

    It depends how long it took, its normally quite a quick process, maybe you could try another scanner such as Grisofts Free AVG and see if thats any better

    Usually with Avast it will tell you which virus' or malware you can delete or quarantine. If system is clean it usually shows a list of files that are password protected, such as windows files, or bombs such as zipped files. You cannot delete the files listed if no virus found. Just close the application if system clean.

    Hi, you can try to test scan in startup mode. Main window, Menu > Schedule Boot-Time Scan > and follow instructions. It has never froze for me. Maybe it takes more time but I'm not sure.
