    Question Recommended anit-spyware/anti-virus/anit-malware ect

    Hi guys!

I'm new to the forum and was just looking for some well recommmended software... I've recently got a new computer after mine was riddled with spyware, viruses and malware to the point where it couldn't be fixed - not too sure what happened but obviously the software I was using let some slip by!

So I'm asking you people what software you think I should get - I don't neccesarily want freeware - just something that is reliable and will keep my computer free from disease!!

    Thankyou

Once a week you could run the Microsoft safety scanner:

Be warned this can take up to 3 hours or longer to complete, so best started before you go to bed at night.

I can recommend AVG anti-Virus, SuperAntiSpyware and Comodo Firewall (all available free). Additionally, if you have a Vista system, you will already have Windows Defender on it. And, Windows Update will automatically give you the monthly Malicious Software Removal Tool. That should be a pretty tight system. Just make sure you keep everything up-to-date, and pay attention when the firewall pops up and tries to tell you something is happening with your system. Obviously, beware of shady sites and never click on links in unsolicited emails. You can download guaranteed spyware-free software at www.download.com (part of C|Net).

Just to add some more then Spywareblaster for a blocking program and if you use IE7 for browsing then LinkScanner Lite is a good idea.
For manual scans then A-squared (free version) and Spybot S&D are good. Just a word of warning if you google for spybot S&D, make sure it's from safer networking ltd. as there are inferior programs sounding like the original.

Hi, I would recommend Avast! Antivirus and Firefox with NoScript. All is free.
