Hi,
Im sure we can help, we would need to know a bit about the software and hardware you are using to capture the video.
If you could give us as much detail as you can about your setup that would really help us.
thanks
Thanx,,,,here is some info on my system...
Emachine T2542 PC
Celeron processor
2.5 ghz
256 mb ram
Dazzle DVC90
Studio 9.4 software to capture VHS tapes to PC
Maxtor 300GB external HD to save to
Ive also checked some things per other help ive found on internet:
checked DMA on drives - OK
unchecked "allow indexing service"
Hope this helps Tom
Hi,
Well the first thing I noticed is that your CPU is a celeron which is below the recommended P4 pinnacle suggest maybe that is something to do with the problem.
Everything else seems ok, I would make sure you disable any anti-virus/spyware tools when capturing and also trying capturing to your Internal C: drive to see if you have the same problems.
Also if you can adjust the capture settings, maybe trying using a lower quality setting to see if you still get the dropped frames
Thanx Zorro for the info.Im not in the position to go out and buy anther PC right now. What do you think if I buy more ram to push it up to 1GB..Any other suggestions???
Thanx Again
I dont think that would make much difference in your case, its hard to tell without trying it. Although 256Mb is the lowest to have for XP anyway, so 1Gb wouldnt hurt but may not help with your problem.Originally Posted by pallerit
