I've been editing dvds that I have. I sent a copy to a friend and she says that they won't play on her dvd player. She thinks they might be PAL formatted. However, I checked to
make sure that it played ok on my dvd player before sending it to her and it played great. We both live in the U.S. also. I'm not sure why it would play on my player but not on hers. Even if the original disc was pal format it played great on my player before I decided to edit
it and burn to disc, which makes me think the original source wasn't pal format.
I just don't understand why this happens.

Ask her what is her DVD player speed. For example, if you recorded the DVD using 16X speed, and her DVD player can only handle 4x, your DVD will not play on her player. Also check to see if her player will except both DVD+R and DVD-R. If not that may conflict as well.
