    Angry burning fallures burning me!

    i recently had windows 2000 prof. and cdromRW installed on pc, since that time unable to sucessfully burn an audio cd. error message RWCW5201(" seek,synch,ATIP, or mechanical positioning error "[04/09/03] )
    and i have no clue what this means ? please help me!!!

    Hi

    That error usually means one of 2 things.
    1. Your CD burner is faulty
    2. It cannot recognize the media, which could be caused by the media being bad.

    Make sure your firmware for the burner is updated.
    If it is, then go to Device Manager, delete your burner, reboot, and see if the problem is solved.

    Also try other media, and other burning software.

    If your not sure about any of the above then give me as much detail as possible, for example your CD-RW make/model, media your using, and cd burning software and i should be able to help you out some more.
