Looks like I'm a bit too late for this topic! For what it's worth, I'm on XP, I doubt my toaster (Laptop) would run Vista, and I'm happy on XP (SP3) I think if anything I'm a bit worried by switching, Xp seems so familiar, if there's something I want to do, I'd say there's an 85% + chance of me knowing how to do it XP, and I'm not ready to move on yet.

I have to say, I haven't tried it! I know it's a lot less power demanding, and has a few nice new features, but have you tried it? how good is it? how likely is it to have as many compatability issues as Vista? your thoughts overall?

Lastly, am I too late to try Windows 7? I don't mind installing it inside XP I'm confortable enough doing that, but am I too late to try the beta or whatever?

Too late I'm afraid; Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) Download Is No Longer Available
Not run W7 but kept a close eye on those that did from beta up-wards. Running the upgrade advisor it's looking good on my XP machine since I upgraded ram to 2 GB. Realtek will need to be updated but Ms will do that via updates... hmmmm. We'll see. It will be a clean install.

I`m one of the rare breed ... I like Vista .. but I am running it on a Quad core machine with 4 gig of ram.
