    Default New PC

Just had to get a vista driven new pc and I have been trying to load items for about 11 hours, getting precious little headway. I am seriously considering formatting the drive and loading XP SP2 as Vista will hardly run anything I have got.

My Limewire will not run, my new(ish) Far Cry game won't start, Vista has no drivers for my webcam but XP has.

Has any manufacturer out there done anything at all to prep their products for an un user friendly Vista?

PC is dual core 2.2, 3GB RAM, 500GB HDD

Not really there are a lot a people in your boat waiting to vista drivers, unless you can wait for things to improve going back to XP may be the answer, you may be able to get a XP downgrade from the people you got the pc from

Many thanks, probably easier to reformat and do clean install of XP, or make dual boot, we shall see!

All I did was go into Hewlett Packard Recovery and hit the button, smooth as silk!! However - another query which I do not believe warrants a new thread:

On log off or switch user, I am getting a window with a schtasks.exe fault. Anybody know what this is? It occurs in all user profiles (4).
