    Default Zone Alarm

I have noticed that zone alarm now have a vista version of their immensely popular freebie firewall. As Mickeysoft admit that their windows firewall is not "100%" I downloaded the freebie and installed it and it ran fine. But then I found I could not access anything via IE7 nor Firefox.

Strange, all permissions, have been set. After all I had used Zone alarm from windows 3.1.1 right through to XP with no hassle.

So I uninstalled it and relit Windows firewall and all my net access is back again - so what gives?

    Anybody else found this?

It would not solve anything. If IE and Firefox do not work, for whatever reason, in Vista, then its superfluous what other browser I download as I do not use anything but these two.

We are, at least I am. My point is that Zone Alarm Vista is supposed to work in Vista, it does not.

I'm glad it does Red Devil, i use a hardware firewall NAT+SPI so i don't use a software one, but i am bothered that Zone Alarm say there firewall works for Vista if it does not, people trusting a well known name are going to have problems.

    Hello,

I do agree that it is strange as Zone Alarm requires Vista!
