    Default Windows v Linux

I have no idea where to put this thread, there is not really a section for it.

I would like to hear from people who have Win/Linux dual boot systems or even just Linux.

    What programs run with Linux?

Will Linux run on a Quad core 3GB Vista running machine?

Can a pc run properly entirely on Linux?

    How safe is Linux?

What about running programs like Kaspersky Internet Suite or other good utilities like Advanced Windows Care?

Would Frontpage 2002 run as a program in such an environment bearing in mind it will probably load its own files?

So many questions, so little knowledge .......................

I had a look at the linux link self provided above, but its a bit over my head I am sorry to say.

With linux you can't run Advanced Windows Care or Kapersky. They're Windows programs. I've tried a 'live' disc but found linux is not for me (not enough time to study it). Using the disc as 'live' means you boot from the downloaded disc and use it live and NOT installed on your PC. This will give you a chance to see how Linux works. Remember to change the boot options to CD first.
Download the appropriate disc image and burn the image on to a dvd disc.
Whatever you decide be very careful what you do.

Similar to my work place then. 10 hour shifts plus weekends. When no credit crunch then normal working times.
Recession then wild hours, as you say work -> sleep -> work.
    Daft innit..
