For some time I have been having a problem with my internet access. The problem is that my computer will lose access to the internet after operating seemingly perfectly for some random period of time between a number of hours or days. When the access is lost the computer Network & Sharing Center indicates that the connection is still good and that all hardware is operating correctly. In this condition I anm unable to ping most websites using either www address or IP. If I restart the computer the connection is always good again but will always drop out again after a period of operation. I have disabled TCP/IPv6 but that did not seem to eliminate the problem. The system is an HP Media Center PC with AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+, 3 GB RAM, and 450 GB HDD. The NIC is a Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet card. The wireless router is a Netgear WNR854T RangeMax Next Router. The OS is Windows Vista Home Premium. Any ideas about the possible causes and solutions to this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.
