    Default Bluetooth device

I am wondering if I can use a bluetooth dongle, which is the Aluratek ABD2020 Bluetooth Wireless 2.0 EDR USB Adapter (found here), with a Vista home premium machine that has it's own bluetooth software? The Alurteck says only up to XP operating systems. But this Toshiba has it's own software for bluetooth, and just needs an adapter - so I'm thinking I may be okay....any thoughts from anyone?
    Thanks!
