    Default Opening files

I have had a problem with my laptop and purchased a new one.

I have removed my hard-drive from my old laptop and want to transfer my files across to the new one but am unable to open the files on my hard-drive due to being password protected on start up. How can I bypass the start up screen to open my files?

Ok just so i have this straight, you have attached an old hdd to your new laptop (as a second drive) , but when you access the files you cant because they are password protected.

or you have put your old hdd in your new laptop (in place of the drive that came with the new laptop) and it wont boot, because of this password problem..?

    thanks

The first option you stated is correct.

I am trying to access my files as an addistion HDD, but am unable to open them due to being password protected.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

Ok this obvioulsy is very difficult to do, there isnt any quick easy fix, all i can suggest is going back to the latop makers or hdd maker and asking, the reason is they sometimes have a master unlock code for these..
