Question Win XP repair boot from cd

Hi. This looks like a nice place.

I have followed instructions from a link I found here. Trying to do an XP repair.

When I installed it, it never got past the flash screen with three blue dots.

I have changed BIOS to boot CD first. So I ran through the repair sequence, files loaded, etc.

When it reboots, I have two choices
    • If I do nothing, it skips the boot from CD (type any key to boot from CD) and goes to the next page and boots WinXp
    • If I hit a key to reboot CD, it starts install sequence all over again instead of continuing to install

How do I get it to reboot from CD by itself? I have changed the BIOS listing. I am running Win98 on aCeleron 1.8 desktop.

After you have done the repair , which is sounds like you have, you just need to let it reboot normally and not from the cd and it should boot into windows.

    what is exactly happening now?

It starts to boot up XP and then stops at the flash screen with three blue dots and never goes any further.
