Hey there, Does the message just come up for just the favorites, or is this the whole internet ??

Anyways, to solve this try saving your favorites to a file or writing your webpage URL. then re-install Internet explorer. Or the better thing to do is use 'Firefox' Its a lot better and faster.
Firefox is just the same as internet explorer, does exactly the same thing just a lot faster and reliable.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Mattio,

I have taken your advice and started using FIREFOX. So far I am very impressed with it.

Thank you very much for your help.

Good that firefox works for you so well. Doesn't cure the original problem though. Suggest you download malwarebyte's antimalware program; http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php , and also superantispyware; http://www.superantispyware.com/ ,update both programs and run malwarebyte's program first then SAS in safe mode. Reboot to normal mode and run both again. Could be a vundo infection. Worth trying and see if it helps.

    Hi Fabler,

Nice to hear from you again. I have carried out your suggestions, but sadly to no avail.
I ran both programs, Malwarebytes first and then Superantispyware, Loged off and then ran them again. Both programs were updated.

The only thing that showed was 31 Tracking Cookies.

    Regards,

    Malc.

Good to know your PC's clean anyway!
If your problem is only with Internet Explorer7 then try resetting the browser. Click on tools, internet options, advanced tab and click on the reset tab at the bottom. This resets IE7 to default and will still keep your favourites lists. You will need to reconfiguer the add-ons through tools, 'manage add-ons'.
See if it works ok after resetting and if so enable the add-ons needed one at a time incase it's a toolbar or another add-on creating the problem.

    Hi Fabler,

With my limited knowledge I am concerned that I could make things worse if I reset
IE7. However another problem has occurred. I want to change my password but when I click on to User Accounts nothing happens.

Your advice as ever would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Malc.

You could first try system restore. If that fails try these commands in the run box, pressing 'enter' after each command; http://windowsxp.mvps.org/useracc.htm .
This is a link for IE7 problems; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936213

    Hi Fabler,

Sorry to report that I am still getting Internet Explorer Cannot Display This Page.

This is after going through Reset Internet Explorer 7.In the last Reset box it failed on the last of the 4 settings, a cross instead of a tick against Applying Manufacturers Settings.

    I am in your hands.

    Regards

    Malc

It looks as Internet Explorer 7 is corrupted if you cannot reset to default. The only thing, therefore, is to suggest an uninstall of the browser. This will take you back to IE6 as you are using XP. Reboot and then reinstall Ie7. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...e/default.mspx .
Remember to save your favourites first. Click on file on the menu bar and click 'import and export' in the dropdown menu, this will bring up the wizard and follow instructions. Save to a pre created folder titled something like IE7FAVS.
In your first post you mentioned you use Reg Cure. Have read that this particular reg cleaner can cause problems for some. Try re-instating an original back-up from within the program.
As for the corrupt User Accounts and the commands, in my previous post's link, failed then the only suggestion I have is run the system file checker. Note ,that, every type of repair carries some risk.
SFC /SCANNOW; http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html .You'll need your XP disk.
    I hope that helps.
