Thread: Missing drivers

I just reinstalled windows xp pro sp 2 onto another PC and i noticed in the device manager that there are no drivers for the Ethernet Controller, Multimedia Audio Controller, or Video Controller (VGA Compatible). How or where can I find the drivers for these components as they are really needed in order for the PC to work for my daughter. The Motherboard is a Abit KV 80 v 1.0 if that helps. Any suggestions would be great!

The PC should have a motherboard disc supplied with it where all the drivers are stored. Install from that disc.

Another problem is that i got the PC from a friend when i was out of state an i know the he has gotten rid of anything that has to do with it since it was some time ago.

Have you tried Microsoft update first? Might get some drivers from there.
Best way I've found to get drivers is to use a program like PC Wizard 2008. This will identify your hardware so you can use a search engine for that particular hardware.
For instance one of my network cards is:- Network Card : Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC
I copy and paste to Google then remove the 'Network Card :' part and add 'Driver'.
Usually get a result that way. Be careful with your searching so you don't download something not needed and search for free drivers.
