    Angry Office 2007 Program Problem

I recently downloaded a trial of Microsoft Office 2007 from the Micosoft website.
However, It seems I cannot install it.
My son has been moaning at me for sometime to purchase this, but I wasn't so sure it was going to be well used within our household. After some serious questions in the house, I was able to find out that my son apparently (without my wife and my knowledge or permission) got hold of a pre-release version from one of his friends and tried to install it on our computer (to show us how good it was!). When it didn't work he un-installed it and didn't mention it to either of us.
When I tried to install the trial version, it says that it cannot be installed until "all parts of a pre-release version have been removed". (See attachment)
I have checked in "Add/Remove Programs" within the "Control Panel" and it is not mentioned there, and also having done a "Search" there is no mention of it?
Therefore, it seems we are destined not to have this product and my son has been barred from using the computer for some time!
Can anybody help me with this?

This is quite a common problem with Office 2007.

See the Microsoft help page here:

As a suggestion - get the free Open Office which does all the the M/S office programs does.

I'll second that - OpenOffice.org - free, and a great alternative. It works with all Microsoft Office files.
