    Unhappy windows xp reboot problem

My son has a dell computer which has windows xp service pack 2.
He has recently had to reboot the computer due to problems with virus.
the computer now shows both his c drive and e drive are full and will not allow him to store anything.
I have put the computer into safe mode and this shows that the discs have plenty of capacity left.
    Can anybody help

First things first, you do not say if you have removed the virus.

If the virus has gone, what did you use to remove it?

A virus will use many tricks to try and prevent you from removing it. It can also infect the System Restore, meaning that it can reinstall its self.

If you are sure it has been dealt with try downloading and running RRT

    Hope it helps.

Angry Re: windows xp reboot problem

    Thanks for the suggestion.
Yes it did fix the virus. However I can not download anything as the computer believes the dics are full. I have downloaded the programme on a seperate computer but it will not install in normal mode. However it will install in safe mode but in safe mode it will not access the internet to allow activation of the programme.
if you go back into normal mode it will not run the registery cleaner.

Try this for starters, 'my computer'--right click local disc (c:/ usually has the os)--properties--tools and click check for errors.
